I tried for a lot of years, but it was mostly one sided.

Here’s how I treat people, Herb: Not all of us are insensitive pricks.

Nah, you gotta be you! Small influences can still effect change in others by way of example.

Or they never cared. Entitled people tend to look at life as though they are the ones who are being mistreated so they abuse preemptively in order to avoid abuse. If you’re nice to them, go the extra extra mile every time, the see it as their due. When you finally door slam them they act bewildered and claim innocence.
