I remember one of my first money exchange encounters. Stayed at a 5 star hotel after an unplanned 3 day layover in Istanbul. The cost of the room was about 3 million Lira per night. (Long before many revaluations of the Lira!). That 3 million Lira worked out to be $67 USD.
