I used to work with a gal who was always unkind to me – saying nasty things to me and about me, questioning the way I dressed (“Nobody wears that anymore”) and more. I would frequently give her things – all of my old Mother Earth magazines when she and her husband bought a farm – and generally acted as nice as possible. One day she actually stopped and asked me why I was always so nice to her. I just smiled.
