At the hobby shop that I worked at we’d tell the wives of our customers that wasn’t it better that their husbands had model trains instead of hanging out at the bars, until one day a wife said that her husband was taking his trains to the bar with him.
I build rockets. I would like to say I build and FLY rockets, alas, that has happened only once. Have quite a few complete ready to fly, and quite a few more ready to build as well as several in work. To fly I need to drive 5 to 6 hours to the launch location. I just can’t seem to do that.Plus it is expensive, and with a 10 YO son, those $$$’s are going else where.
Started reading this comic last week because it seemed interesting but today’s makes no sense. He calls a hobby a guilty pleasure? Why? Lots of people have hobbies – it’s not unusual or bad or anything like that. Then the owner says his money is no good there – but that turned out to be a lie. And why is the owner turning down a lot of business because of a phone call? Does he get even more money from the wife? Doesn’t make sense so not funny.

I used to work for a model train company. I “recycled” so much of my paycheck I could hardly afford to work there.

Yeah a business turning away a loyal customer ain’t ever going to happen. They won’t stay in business for very long otherwise
