The radio stations I listen to are classic rock, not aimed at children. For many years we didn’t have the “radio edit” of Money, by Pink Floyd, Or Who Are You by The Who. Or so many other songs where no one noticed some profanity mixed in. Why now? And why even play Closer by Nine Inch Nails, or Killing In The Name by Rage Against The Machine? It’s as bad as when they show Blazing Saddles on TV.

There has been so much beautiful music written over these many centuries spoiled by some git singing

Remember: The saying is “Sex, drugs, and rock & roll.” It’s not like rock has been a paragon of virtue all these years. And rockers don’t always sing the King’s English, either! Ever hear of “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”? The guy sang “In the garden of Eden” so unintelligibly that they had to change the name of the song! And that’s just one example.

I wish more people were aware of the socially-conscious hip-hop of the ‘80s and ’90s, which lives on today but doesn’t get nearly as much attention as the filthy stuff. Hip-hop is not limited to “gangsta” themes.

Bleeping is done for live television. Editing is done for songs to be broadcast via radio. But then, according to the graphics next to the radio in this comic, nothing has been bleeped or edited so what the heck is he talking about?
