Why is he talking to the mildew on the fruit?

One grape can mean the difference between a million dollar painting and a ten dollar painting. Mildew ruined his painting.

If you can stand it, check Mildew’s breath. Might give a clue. Might give a barf. Who knows?

Sir, the food taster needed to check to see if the grapes were poisoned. (He died after eating it, but I am not going to tell you that.)

If I’m correct, this is not the first time Unger had Mildew in a toon.
