    My late wife bought a flat of broccoli soup, which I use in place of the mushroom soup. My new bf is a retired chef, so today’s recipe is not the horizon any more

    That is exactly the most common dinner I made myself when I was first living on my own. Also, as I didn’t have a refrigerator, I put some foodstuffs that needed refrigeration out on the back porch in a Cooler, which of course only worked when the weather was cold enough. Other times, I just ate what could be stored at room temperature, until I got a Refrigerator… ☺
