I presume they say Ellie is actually a decent salesgirl, as everything in this arc would suggest? I’m betting the CEO only noticed she’s not moving the one forementioned production without seeing the store is doing well with Ellie.

Maybe they should start over, Ellie should take them to Chix-and-Wings to talk, when she’s on shift, I’m certain he’ll be more agreeable then, and as a tip he’ll leave her part of his estate.

This is like one of those Dave Attenborough documentaries where the stupid young male shows up and tries to challenge the alpha in its own territory, only to get thoroughly annihilated.

Somehow I get the terrible feeling that, after everything shakes out, Hubbs is going to have some competition :-/

Panel three… you’re right, Ms. Bea – it gets better.

You’re selling phones, Ellie…but not their phones. The profit margin is likely greater on their phones.

The company is big enough that one part doesn’t know what the other part is doing.

Ellie just received an award for selling the most high end phones per store.

If he’s such a smart businessman, why is he investing in something that is clearly not worth selling?

She’s the best at what she does. And what she does… is best for his company.

That guy seems to be loosing a bunch a fluids through sweating, spitting, and that steam coming out of his ears.

This is a totally unanticipated side of Ellie, given her presentation as an airhead until now. What’s next, Sedine with a law degree? Roy as a closeted physicist? Ow as an undercover Dalmatian?

BTW, interesting use of perspective on panel four, kind of a mash-up of mythologies. (Diana battling Loki, say…)

I will agree that I like the perspective in panel four but for entirely different reasons. Much like Pequod’s observation.

With that white iris look in her eye (shades of Bill Bixby’s David Banner if TV’s “Incredible Hulk”) I’m almost expecting her to turn into She-Hulk.

Love seeing Ellie standing up for herself and what she believes in, even when she’s kneeling on a glass counter. Note to Hubbs: Do everything in your power to avoid having El direct this kind of rage at you, lol.

Has anybody checked Clo-chi to see if the clown suit has a pocket with a cellphone in it?

Love the story line, Bea, totally full of surprises.

By the way, Megacon, Orlando. Sitting in my room at Hyatt Regency. Unfortunately, I am here for another conference and have to miss it, AND IT IS ACROSS THE STREET!
