Big difference, blondie, is that she’s already married with a nice guy, someone I can call a real man.

Sedine does have a point, that most guys’ thought patterns are still stuck in ‘high-school mode’, believing that only the alpha males can get gorgeous women like Ellie. As adults, alpha men turn out to be conceited jerks and prom queens end up alone or in bad relationships/marriages. At least that’s what I’ve observed of my peers since graduating.

Well, Sedine starts off by saying “Woman”, which to me is not a compliment to Ellie and Ellie gets defensive (we know what can happen there). She could have said, “Lady” or “Girl Friend”. Of course going off on Sedine is not a great idea even if you are bigger. She can literally kick that cute butt of yours.

Nice comeback, despite the fact that Ellie is quite sincere.

Ellie’s persona does not filter out remarks like that. I’ve known non-cartoon people like her: they don’t mean to hurt, they simply say what’s on their mind. It can be charming, open, refreshing. It can also be misunderstood and provoke the thin-skinned.

On a serious note related to the theme, the saddest woman I’ve ever known was a devastatingly gorgeous Nordic blonde I met in college. She went from creep to creep— marrying 4 of them— until she committed suicide years later. Because of my odd big brother relationship to women I was often her shoulder to cry on. Had she been homely she would have had a wonderful life, I suspect.

So does Ellie meanhat Sedine dresses hot so she doesn’t attract hot guys or that she doesn’t dress hot so she attracts nice guys? What a conundrum? In any case, Sam was in a bad time of his life and not such a nice guy. It took a rather hot Sedine to pull him out of that.

Ellie seems to be quite the tease. When the date is over she bails on them. I guess she only has eyes for Hubbs?
