Everyone always abandons Ellie? Don’t know if that’s true, but maybe she should think whether that’s a problem on her part, unless she wants to live her life saying it’s everyone else who’s the problem. I think we know which she’ll choose.
Everybody’s inner struggles seem to be emerging in this 12-second span here… except for Sam, who’s still outside the stadium grilling meat. (BTW, Hubbs? Eyes on the ball, please…)
Ellie admits her real problem. Fear of abandonment. While pretty and desirable she fears being dropped like yesterday’s newspaper. Hubbs can show her she’s not abandoned…..he may have to go away but he’ll always return. You’re safe on his family lifeboat. He has a life too. But if you crush the boat..…,you’ll both drown.
There’s some question (in her mind) just exactly WHY she keeps being abandoned … ? At some point, a reasonable person would look in the mirror and begin introspection.

Al’s been turned into a doll? What is this "Poppy Playtime?! Although I can totally imagine Ellie as Mommy Long Legs.

You take your issues TO therapy, not OUT on people you purportedly love.

Gee, can’t figure out why anyone would want to ditch a woman who doesn’t care about her partner’s most treasured dreams.

I can see how her inner child and his might break free, but how did his stay behind to talk?

It’s time those two kids had a real heart-to-heart. It may be the only way for Ellie to see the truth.

Flash back to Ellie’s sense of abandonment in her younger years. This is really interesting now.

Now to see the discussion between past Hubbs and Ellie… bring to us due the powers of Clo-Chi.

I just realized, she has turned into a kid too, and little Al is literally a doll.
