Ellie has the magic touch with flowers.

Ellie has a cat. Cats pee in potted plants when their cat box is dirty. The extra nitrogen does wonders for greedy plants that can handle it. I speak from experience.

If the Mythbusters were right, at least is logical.

Danny Thomas in his later years had a sitcom about an old-school doctor called The Practice (1976). In one episode, the doctor’s ditzy receptionist (expertly played by Didi Conn) puts a plant on his desk and tells him all about the benefits of talking to your plants. The doctor, who has had a particularly tough day, looks at the plant and says, Dummy! You could have been at a massage parlor! Here, there’s a lot of pain… a lot of pain… (gestures to the other side of the desk) Ask the lamp…
