I googled Barney Google. He turns 90 this year. It turns out that the search engine, Google, was named after him indirectly. Google was named after a very large number called the googol. But, they misspelled it. The math term googol was named after Barney Google. But, it was also misspelled. A strange, but fitting turn of events. The first use of the word google came from a children’s book called The Google Book in 1913.
