In the old Batman TV show, the soles of the feet were the only part of Batman and Robin’s costumes that were bulletproof.
I liked Frank Miller’s version in “Dark Knight Returns” better. The yellow-and-black symbol on his chest covered a kevlar disc. “Why else do you think I wear a target on my chest? Can’t very well armor my head.”
