Captain Victorious’s lines in the second panel could never be spoken by Jim Kirk. James T. Kirk does not believe in failure. If the fate of the ship, the planet, or the universe were to be left in the hands of either Captain Kirk or Captain Victorious, who would YOU want on your side?
Cap’s particular variety of overacting reminds me more of Tom Cruise trying to be taken seriously as an actor.
