I wish that they’d get Wonder Woman to moderate the next debate. That Lasso of Truth would disqualify ’em all.

There are others, but they don’t compare (which is what I think the intention of this strip means).

@ONLY OMWAEYou are right; aside from Wonder Woman almost all the rest are either spin-offs of male heroes or originally just a member of a team. (Except Ms. Amazement and maybe Flare, if they count.) There’s a dearth of original, stand alone Super Heroines in the big comic universes.

Black Canary, Liberty Belle, and Phantom Lady are all superheroines who began in the same era as Wonder Woman, were not distaff versions of male superheroes, and were not originally associated with any team. And all have survived, in one version or another, into the modern era. Invisible Scarlet O’Neil, Fantomah, Claire Voyant, Spider Widow, Wildfire, Lady Luck, Black Cat, Miss Fury, Venus, and the Blonde Phantom also fit the bill for non-spinoff, “stand alone” superheroines, but they didn’t prove to have quite the, uh, legs of their crime-fighting sisters.

I think the point is that once he starts thinking about wonder woman, there is no room left for thought of any others
