Hamhock: Look, Tyr, you gotta get yourself a summer outfit. Tyr: But this is the traditional garb of the Viking! Everything I'm wearing I've crafted from the carcass of a dead ox! Hamhock: But it's summer! You gotta wear something that breathes, man! Tyr: And this is supposed to make me feel less hot??

Traditional, yeah right. Real Norse didn’t wear horned helmets, except maybe the occasional special occasion. We can thank the Victorians for that image. The Viking Revival of the Victorian era gave us the image that all Norse, especially those who went a Viking, wore horned helmets. And the Norse did make wool and linen clothing out of sheep’s wool and flax. Oxen probably would have been used more for leather making.

No they didn’t. Actually they would have looked tougher without them.
