Surprisingly thoughtful… Hit most of the tropes. Skipped the usual exploding box/cigar that left the victim in blackface. Probably a good one to skip, don’t think they’ve used that in cartoons since the 40s or 50s.
In the ’50s old B grade theatrical cartoons with all of the things depicted above were on every weekday afternoon and Saturday mornings. One thing that hit me when I was 5 or 6 was that the characters completely recovered by the next scene. It taught me that cartoon characters were different from ordinary humans.
The same people who yell about cartoon violence desensitiving folks also try to get rid of fairy tales in their historic form. They’d rather have the Disney form of fairy tales which are so much tamer compared to what they were over a hundred years before Disney was born.

Yeah, banish the old school cartoons but keep the violent video games. Roadrunner & Coyote bad, Grand theft Auto good.
