Autocorrect is bad, but only when we notice its flubs. We never see what it actually corrects because we read it only after it’s corrected.
Kind of like Y2K: Some people were ticked because nothing bad happened, not realizing that nothing bad happened because lots of other people worked hard to prevent it from happening.
