My name is Jane B Lee, I am a lesbian and author. This I can’t even call it a comic, it is true to life. I read her stories, and in someway relate to them. Sometimes it bring tears to my eyes, or a giggle, or just sometime like this one makes me remember my past life!
it is confusing enough growing up as a heterosexual; I can’t begin to imagine all the questions and thoughts going through a gay person’s head growing up, especially when not having the support of family and friends.
Back in the mid 80’s a lesbian friend asked me to be her “beard” at a family event. She did not want to deal with embarrassing family questions. It turned out almost everyone already knew she was gay. They wanted to let her tell them in her own time.As I drove her home I broke the news that even Grandma already was aware of her sexuality. It was time to talk it out with the Family. A few weeks later she told me the talk was had. It didn’t solve all problems but it helped with some.

They want you two to get married and spend your life together, for better or for worse, to the end and for eternity. Too much pressure!!!

the mom’s conversation is just vague enough that you can’t be certain exactly what they’re talking about.
