Im going to throw away those boxes in my basement.
what?!
Thats my stuff in those boxes!
Cherished memories from my childhood!
Take whatever you want before I put it out on the curb.
Marcy won't let me store cherished memories at home.
Maybe impractical, but I love that my parents stored all my nonsense in their attic for about 10 years without complaining before I finally came and got it.
What’s worse is that my mother gave my cherished toys to my niece, who destroyed them, and 5 years later I see them selling on eBay for big $. I’d always been careful with them and saved them for over 30 years.
Funny, I’ve been telling my husband for years to quit storing his childhood stuff at his parents’ house. It doesn’t mean anything to me, but does to him. I’ve never understood why that’s not enough if you have the space.
Geez, my husband wants me to get rid of the stuff in lots and lots of boxes under the bed, etc. I’m supposed to scan it. Urk. How can I get rid of things like my mom’s letters? Also, I’ve often enjoyed going through old Christmas cards and seeing what people were up to way back when. Sigh. Maybe someday the kids will have to rent a front-end loader and have at it. (I am prepared to get rid of papers from my work days, though.)
… this is why public storage places make so much money.they make the money off both ends of the deal. they make money when you bring the stuff over, they make money while you keep sending in monthly payments.and when you inevitably forget about the stuff and stop paying, they make money auctioning off the contents.
What does he mean “Marcy won’t let…”? It’s his house, too, and that’s his stuff. He works hard, he has everyright to store whatever he wants at his house.

Unless those comics and baseball cards are in near mint condition, they are probably worthless, unfortunately…..

My wife wants to get rid of my books. I find that a horrifying prospect. You don’t just throw out knowledge.
