When they are young the parents look after the kids – when you are old the kids look after the parents.

Dad might as well get used to the idea. It goes downhill from here. Pretty soon dad will be asking him what to do.

Don’t I know it. My mom still gives orders. Though she tries to get out of going places.

What was that saying?“A boy is a man when he takes on a wife,but his mom is his Mom for all of his life!”. . . or something like that? I can’t find the quote anywhere.

I put that saying on the Google search line, which indicated that the more common saying is,""A son is a son until he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter for the rest of your life." From what I could see from a cursory glance, that saying is anonymous.
