There are people who do have 5,000 “friends”.

Invite them all…set it up at a hall or public venue…tell everyone to bring something…then stay at home and have a nice quiet Thanksgiving.

Inviting a few people on FaceBook means about 10,000 will show up and trash your house and the neighborhood.

I came from a family we all got together, uncles, aunts, cousins…. all spearheaded by grandma. Then I married my husband and his family hates their family, so no big get together. So disappointed for the last 20 years.

I find large gatherings are quite easy…everyone insists on bringing something and usually the trick is to keep them from bringing too much. The washing-up is the only challenge.

One of my friends had 14 uncles on her father’s side. For her wedding she invited her uncles and their children most with kids of their own. 104 people just on her father’s side. Marcy, you are in big trouble, believe me.
