Simple solution that is happening all over the US: “gang” boxes. They are set up at the curb, away from fences and dogs, and have anywhere from 8 to 16 mail boxes per unit. We, the customers don’t much like them but the letter carriers love them – no dogs to worry about and a lot less walking, plus he does the final sort right there at the mail box instead of pre-sorting before he leaves on his route. (No wonder I get my neighbor’s mail sometimes!)
