I would love a “get caught up on the background” arc for myself and all others who arrived to this strip late. (Apologies for poorly worded sentiment there, but hopefully you know what I mean.)

I had never know Marcy’s maiden name until now (but then again, I’m newer to the JS universe)…

I think there’s more too it than this.

Even at a young age, with women it’s always about relationships. Not that that’s a bad thing.

Get their stories down while you may! :-o

Just tell her “It’s like this, kid. I’m your grandpa’s second wife and he’s my second husband. Your first grandma, your father and uncles’ mother, died before you were born. Please don’t cry.”

Buy Robb’s Jump Start: A Love Story and you’ll get the “rest of the story”. Her Grandpa Rick was quite a handsome man, but died suddenly. This arc brought Joe and Marcy really together for the first time.

You haven’t missed anything yet. In the previous strip she only told us she had been born on the lovely Gulf Coast with miles of white sand beaches in Biloxi

Echo I’ll Fly Away comment above. It’s such a great story the way Joe and Marcy meet. Her dad dies just before they are going to have their first date. I rehearse this story in my mind quite often. It’s so touching.
