Many of the teachers are just as happy.

So I have a question. What would happen if we allowed people to learn at their own pace? We would tell them, this is what you need to function in our society (probably 5th grade in the US), beyond that it is up to you. We will be here if you want to go on or have questions later, but your mandatory schooling is now complete.

Bruce, you’ve missed the entire point of an education which is mandated (by law) to a certain age. You have to learn enough to get a job so you can make money and pay taxes so your politicians can live high while creating more taxes, passing out Pork for reelection purposes and giving themselves raises. Among other things.
