My favourite Kliban cat cartoon of all time. I remember hearing a band play a version of this song during a sound check…

I have this on a hand towel. Still using it. They really don’t make things that long-lasting anymore.

I had it on a checkbook cover. Can’t bear to throw the tattered & torn thing away; still have some well-used ratty used hand towels with other Kliban cats in a drawer!

I took a book of Kliban’s cats to work one day years ago and passed it around. We spent half a day singing that song over and over, driving the boss nuts.

I agree that this is the best Kliban cat cartoon, and the lyrics are what makes it great. For 15 years my sister had a cat that looked just like this one – but it was not very good on the guitar.

Science fiction writer I knew back in Minneapolis wrote out the full lyrics as a blues filk. Unfortunately, it looks like no one’s ever uploaded it to the net.

Had this on a beach towel! Don’t know what happened to the beach towel, but I still have 2 hand towels with Cat in red sneakers.

Cats kill with a bite to the spine at the base of the skull, which severs the spinal cord (paralyzing the prey) and breaking its neck (killing it). Then they open up their prey at the belly to eat the softest parts first then go on to the muscle tissue.

This was always one of my favorites!
