Nice spin on total incompetence. The man painted himself into a corner with his red line speech and then tried to get congress to take responsibility by having them vote on it. Thank God for Putin pulling his chestnuts out of the fire. Got to laugh at a man with zero diplomatic experience flopping around like a fish.

Whether it was intended or not, it worked and now Russia is going to take the weapons and probably sell them to China who will turn them into cosmetics that Americans will be able to purchase at Wal Mart.

I agree we antagonized Japan, possibly intentionally, but militaristic Imperial Japan was going to go to war with us anyway, even if only to get the Philippines, which at the time was a U.S. protectorate whose money said “United States of America”.
