Tch, tch…name-calling might get you somewhere you don’t want to go…

A walled-in fortress is not the kind of country we want to be. And it will not make us safer. What’s more, the influx of Mexicans has shrunk rather significantly on its own because the jobs aren’t here like they used to be. I always said, arrest the employers who hired illegal aliens, and you won’t have the illegal aliens.

Plus, it was totalitarian Communists who built the Berlin Wall. (Never mind that many ill-educated persons think communism and fascism are the same thing.)

Amazing how liberal people can totally get history wrong, but then their base voters are a little slow and probably won’t pickup up on the falsehoods.

Outside name calling or labels I am amused that in the Republican tent we find the very rich, the religious folks and the dispossessed whites.

Just as I figured out Lalo’s obsession with Latinos in the movies he started a new arc.Well, Lalo is no Mel Brooks and Hollywood must have rejected and scorned Lalo’s script(s) for (a) movies with an all Latino cast.

And Democrats get tired pretending not to be totalitarian Communists. I DID it!! If figured out the rules of Lalo’s game!

Funny how people who make this comparison ignore the fact that the Berlin Wall was built to keep people IN, not keep people out!

Oligarchy is more accurate. Recent studies indicate that US policy is far more influenced by the wants of the wealthiest than by the preferences of the general populace. But “totalitarian” and “fascist” grab more attention and are more widely known, so in the field of political mud slinging, are more widely used as a stand in for “authoritarians we don’t like” And looking at current events, police state would also be applicable. But as usual, the partisans sit around screaming about Tweedledee and Tweedledum, rather than talking about issues, problems and or solutions.

Which dictionary are you using? The Oxford lists it as: “an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.” Nothing in there about a dictator at all. So no, Night-Gaunt’s definition isn’t a “little-known interpretation.” In fact, corporations were extremely important to historical fascism. Also, by Oxford’s definition, Republicans’ jingoistic calls for border walls and gunboats and preservation of the nation and all its precious bodily essences does indeed shade into fascist ideology. (And you and Night-Gaunt are both essentially on the same page as far as totalitarianism, so what’s your problem there?)
