Looking back at yesterday’s Ebola conversation…there is a probable case in Oregon…another person coming here after flying in from West Africa… I’m not Chicken Little, but one needs to be aware that things can fall out of the sky…
By the way, here’s an interesting little video piece on Alcaraz that just went up on the NY Times. It’s definitely a sympathetic, style-type piece, but gives a few insights nonetheless. One of which is that people posting here such as indie, dzw, and mdavis apparently inspire Lalo to work more. Congrats, y’all!
I do applaud Lalo’s humorous efforts that don’t promote discord. If I’m inspiring anyone to do anything, that idea will amuse and astonish those who know me.
It’s a shame we don’t inspire Lalo to work better.
Heh. Figured my post would “inspire” some replies. Anyway, whether the work is good is in the eye of the beholder. And I respectfully disagree with you, my dear chap.
That indicates Agrestic taunts intentionally. Sort of a sadistic game.
I didn’t post the video in order to taunt. That was more of a prediction I told myself—one that turned out true. The fact that you read it as a taunt is more indicative of your own approach to this than it is to mine.
his supporters (and Lalo) freak out and lash out
Again, I think the way you read what folks say indicates more about your own approach to this forum than about those folks themselves.
What a disingenuous attempt at intellectual pomposity – “I’ve always been curious….
Nope, I’ve truly been curious. But you again choose to read it in bad faith. For someone who really doesn’t like folks reading intentions into him, you sure are doing a lot of it yourself today.
As for finding discord in conservative comics, Agrestic has a strange hobby of spending loads of time searching for faults of others on a comics website.
I could reply that you spend a whole lot of time searching for faults of agrestic on a comics website, but—well, I suppose I just did. In any case, it’s all part of the conversation, and when someone posts regularly, those who read even slightly carefully start to build up a sense of that other person as they present themselves here. And those patterns can become part of the conversation. Goodness knows you’ve been doing that for quite some time now. Which you’re entitled to do. It’s just interesting that you then turn around and criticize someone for doing the same thing. It’s like telling someone their shoelace is untied when you’re about to trip and fall over your own.
And how interesting that a lot of times, people who post vile comments on “liberal” sites post normal, thoughtful ones elsewhere. No one from here, of course.
Here’s what I responded to as a taunt:“Heh. Figured my post would “inspire” some replies.”
Well, glad you cleared that up, then. Though I’d hardly characterize my comment as sadistic. Again, you’re reading a whole lot into something pretty small.
I’m still addressing what folks say on here. It might be that you refuse to see any change in tone. That’s fine. I’ll just keep on keepin’ on.
Please notice there have been no Agrestic posts concerning today’s strip, yet.
Actually, if you notice my second post, waaaaaay up there near the top, it’s absolutely to do with today’s strip.
In any case, why do you feel the need to play topic cop? And why all the extreme verbiage (vile, attacks, pomposity, sadistic, freak out, lash out, Rush Limbaugh)?
It’s just interesting that, unlike other folks around here, you won’t take the time to admit when you’re actually, factually wrong. You know, in the name of comity and all that.
