Back when I was employed at a Salvation Army donation shed* at the grocery store at which I am presently employed, I soldiered on in the snow despite having only a few donors the whole day through. As for when snow hit when I became a grocery store employ, the first February since the hire (even before all that COVID mess) had a snowfall so bad on its first day, the other cart collectors couldn’t make it and I was asked to stay behind until early closing.

*The shed is no longer there as the store got tired of the accumulating, unattended donations left outside where they could get ransacked. That was when I was transferred to another branch of the same store in another part of town where I stayed until the Salvation Army’s donation program closed.

I live in New England and this year so far (knock on wood) global warming is finally kicking in and I couldn’t be happier. I do feel bad for CA and Tornado country though, sad.

Exxon knew all about climate change decades ago, but chose to mislead the public anyway.

I have been cooped up for days with pneumonia. Today I got out and had a big breakfast at a local restaurant. My breathing is slowly getting better and I’m not coughing as much. Stay safe and well my friends.

One of the “unintended consequences” of an uncentralized command-and-control like our democracy is that it is impossible to get long-term commitments from a majority of political leaders whose terms-of-office are 2 to 6 years. There are many, many advantages to democracy but don’t bet on us staying ahead of climate change.
