I knew a woman who, during a rough patch in her marriage, became involved with the guy from the pest exterminator service who treated her home to ward off bugs.

She very quickly realized it was a mistake, broke it off, and switched to a different de-bugging company.

She was having a hard time forgetting the guy, though, but worked at keeping him out of her thoughts, and did well with that effort.

She almost lost it when the huge billboard across from her house began to show the logo for the loverboy’s company featuring a handsome man in the company uniform, smiling and saying, “Call me! I’ll be right over!”

Good one Carol. Well done.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign. Blocking out the scenery, messing up my mind. Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

cannot say how many times this ploy worked on me.

And this one reminds me a little of Will Eisner’s city stories-but it’s all Layline. nice ending, thank you.
