Better Brandy had found out what was really going on during that Christmas Eve party at the tavern. She doesn’t seem to know how to defend her own interests (or sometimes, even what they are).
Brandy didn’t shoot him down; she failed to be sufficiently telepathic with his incompetent attempts to communicate. And Jen didn’t pick him up; she gave him one meaningless smooch and not a moment’s thought or interest. Typically and cluelessly, he misinterpreted and overreacted.
Tigger, Brandy has also sought Frank out time and time again - without understanding her own heart or following through against all obstacles (such as Jen).
Normally I prefer blondes, but given the choice between these two curvaceous lovelies, I’ll take Brandy. Jen is a selfish brat; it’s written all over her face. Brandy is anything but; she actually cares about people and animals.
Frank Cho finished the strip at a very critical time - I won’t give it away for the newbies, but it was when all hope seemed lost for Frank and with Brandy wondering why Frank had allowed it to be so (in Frank’s presence). I understood that Cho was going to continue the action in comic books…here is something on that action (leaving aside his own Web site):

Brandy should just put Frank out of his misery.
Any male who’d pick anyone over Brandy is obviously suffering beyond repair.

I agree, drag him back out into the snow. The animals are smarter than him.

Frank is delirious and dreaming, and I’m hoping…Ah, heck, Brandy, shake him awake!

The problem is that Brandy leaves before she hears the most important part.

If only there were less truth to this…….

Brandy shot him down, Jenny picked him up. Which would you choose?

Brandy, without question! (There’s something about brunettes…)

Well, there is that.

Cherrybomber summarizes succinctly, above.
