I wonder if this was the inspiration for the Geico commercial? I’m sure it came first.
If it was the inspiration, then the comercial would not have featured and older man instead of a young woman.

I saw something like this on Hercules and Mean Girls. Everyone jumped out of the way at the last second and let the poor sucker fall.
This strip is at least 10 years old. No way it’s a Geico rip off. The gag is older than that, but usually the catchers just let the faller, fall.
