well, odds are next we’ll cut away to Fearless Fosdick and the Chippendale chair, Daisy Mae’s scheming mother, turnup termites, dumping nuclear fog over Dogpatch, the old man in the mountain reversing the age process….did I forget one?
It appears GoComics may only hace rights to a limited number of strips which get tossed on here in a rather haphazard way.
It’s a shame – Capp did years of great work, though some say he lost his way and finally ended the strip.
I have renewed my membership here and I always look forward to getting new comics everyday. However, I don’t know what the problem is with L’iL Abner. Yes, Capp did some wonderful work but we never see characters like the Shmoo’s, Sadie Hawkins day race, etc.. It is as if this strip is stuck bag in the 1930’s/early 40’s. If anyone knows how to get a hold of someone at gocomics.com, I would be willing to spend some time following up – I am a librarian, so I’ll keep digging for info until I get it! :-) Best to all here!
Odds are they’ll never run the Gone With the Wind parody but there’s a whole mess of stuff outside of that that doesn’t seem like it should have any copyright issues.
