I have my own theory on why there is a limited cycle of Lil Abner comic strips. Al Capp made fun of everybody. The publishers are afraid to portray characters like Lonesome Polecat, (Polecat is a name for skunk). the character was a Native American sidekick to Hairless Joe, whose red hair cover his whole body. they made Kickapoo Joy Juice, a potent hill country moonshine. They are scaredy cats.
