I’m so very glad that you escaped that horror. I really did play with the protesters. One of my more vivid childhood memories is pulling my little brother in a Red Ryder wagon, holding up a sign that said “War is Unhealthy for Children and Other Living Things” when I was about eight years old while my parents and our church protested the war at our local college. In case anyone is wondering, we were Unitarian. ;)
When I first moved to the Midwest, my upstairs neighbor was a young lady whose fiance had just been killed in Vietnam. I was only 21 and had vaguely antiwar sentiments. There was no way I felt qualified to say anything even close to the subject to her. Supposed principles meet reality, I guess

Green plastic protestors. Makes sense to me. Do they live under the bed with the nighttime monster?

I had army men during the Viet Nam war. Toymakers blew it- they probably could have sold a lot of little protesters!

Why is it some jerkoff has to make everything about politics and of course show their hate for anyone who doesn’t share that hate?
