How unrealistic: no tear gas, no “less lethal” ammo, no neck-kneeling …

Dick Tracy was a realistic cop. He should have come in guns-a-blazing and then figured out that the mask was for an innocent child.

BLUE LIVES MATTER!!!!! Truthfully all law abiding, honest people’s lives matter. A lot more than some fake money con man’s.

A political comment that works on many levels.

No, not all cops are racists. Nor does this incident paint Dick Tracy as a racist.

Let’s not forget the Central Park dog walker vs. the Central Park bird watcher. (As in, sometimes cops are “set up”)

Remembering the two week delay for most comics, it’s pretty clear that this is Tatulli’s homage to John Lewis, and a darned good one at that!

Great to see Dick Tracy again. One of my fav’s as a kid. Great villains-Flat Top, Prune Face, etc.

I would have been more impressed if it was Tricky Prickears who had investigated the call. And somehow, I don’t think that name is lost on too many people here……

I love the three depictions of Dick Tracy here. The first panel has a fairly straight-up, classic rendering that takes us back to his heyday; the second is a bit more “cartoony” (note the wonderful asymmetries, in opposite directions, of the chin and the mouth, as well as the flapping tie); the third devolves to a completely cartoon “take” that powerfully reminds me of Don Martin’s best work (the mouth, the stance).

I think we can all agree that Tracy would have taken down the police officers for the atrocities committed and the corrupt higher ups who tried to sweep the actions under the rug because he’s an actual good cop
