I see the artist went with making Tanuki look like a racoon rather than an animal tanuki. Cartoon tanukis then to look like racoons, real tanukis have smaller tails, dog like noses, and the mask is less defined.
I just had a sneak peek at the past strips. I have no idea why I never bother to check this strip out! Mr. Birdsong, you are a genuis!
