I’ve seen reports than many people in Japan have learned how to sleep standing up on the commuter trains, so they can get in two extra hours of sleep.
That can be a lifesaver when your job and commute only leave you about 5 hours of sleep time a night.
The difficult part is learning how to Wake Up when your stop is announced.
