He needs to curtail that activity.

any one of my dogs will take over my chair if I get up when I return the dog will complain(growl / sometimes snarl) & move to the couch or other chair displacing one of the other dogs
Our dog runs the house. She is all of ten pounds. I could not move for over a hour today because she was sleeping on me.
Kick the corner of the chair. Works every time.
