Why bother with learning how to use politeness when one can now just skip to profanities, rude gestures and violence. Definitely doesn’t require good manners.
Although a lot of the incivility is promulgated on purpose (divide and conquer), I think it’s amplified by overpopulation. (tensions increase when crowding becomes oppressive)
