The Hawaiian plate lunch place near me sells a Spam version of everything: Spam burgers, “barbecue”, katsu (breaded and fried) and musubi (like Spam sushi!)
Not for me! But I see others there eating it, including the Hawaiian family who own the place.
Nothing like a healthy meal of deep fried, breaded Spam katsu with rice, potato salad and no vegetables.
Or a spam Loco Moko — with gravy and a fried egg on top.
But I have to say, the parents and two young adult daughters are all very thin!
Ahhh, I see I am in the company of ignorant Spam snobs. Like SusanSunshine alluded to, Spam is much more popular in Hawaii than in the mainland. It is very versatile and can be prepared many different ways. The real reason many people snub Spam is that their parents and grandparents view it as ‘poor people food’ because it was distributed alongside government cheese. Well, I’m off my soapbox and heading out for some Spam musabi.
OMG just watched the video, I truly do not want to eat any of those foods again. but can just a few people make any difference for all those animals? I mean the scope is inconceivable, the people to be fed, the workers who need jobs, etc. I am at a loss for words and ideas.

I live in the land of Spam – Minnesota – I’ve never tried it, nor have I been to our Spam museum!
The meat is on just about every menu in Hawaii – made me laugh! I think Hawaii is the largest consumer of Spam.
