I trimmed my fingernails the other day. Every time I do, I think that this is about the speed at which North America is separating from Europe.
(They didn’t know anything about this when I was a kid. Discovering plate tectonics is one of the great scientific advances of my life. But I’m still waiting for the jetpack they promised me.)
