A card doesn’t count as a gift no matter what.

I used to send Xmas cards without signing them, and a note inserted saying that it was so they could be reused the following year.

“Today, she is a man.”

Could anyone hazard a guess as to the percentage of Jewish readers on GoComics? In the world-wide population we only account for 0.5%… I suspect that on GoComics we’re actually in the majority…

When the card rack has been assaulted and picked clean you have to take whatever you can find. Happy “Edison’s Day”!

My child often gives me condolence cards for my birthday. Or anything at all. She writes in the expected words, and it was me who started the tradition. We were given a bag of unused cards by someone, and decided to save a lot of money and have more left over for the actual gifts. It’s really a lot of fun. I gave a 35+ year old man a happy two year old birthday card last year. Easter cards might be used for Christmas. One given at the correct time is considered bad form in our family.

But you’ve got wine and chocolates – forget the card!
