There some comics strips, that bring the inane, banal, fatuous and stupid comments from the commenters who come out of the woodwork to type the inane, banal, fatuous and stupid comments, this is one of them…
I would prefer the honest guy caught in a scandal: “I am resigning to spend more time with my family and mistress. The job was taking up too much of my time.”
Hey, far be it from me to tell everyone how to think. But I can’t tell you how disappointing the political turn of this comments thread is to me. This cartoon was not meant to be political. None of my cartoons are meant to be political. In fact, I imagined the character to be a business exec. And yes, I can see how I left the door open for interpretation … or mis-interpretation. I won’t make that mistake again.
About the comments turning political, I’ve been thinking about this more and think the whole comments turning political thing that happened here and happens on other strips like Lio has something to do with the fact that this site also hosts a ton of political cartoons. So the same site that gives you apolitical humor comics like these also gives you political comics that fuel whatever emotions you feel about the state of the world, and that spills over into here. Just a theory. And it makes me think maybe we’d be better off having a separate site for political cartoons.

Hey chief, didn’t you read, “stepping down from my position…” That doesn’t describe him now. But it sure does describe his successor! LOL

Would be a better likeness if his face was orange along with scraggly hair. Add an angry facial expression.
