I remember when my kids used to complain about lunch and dinner almost every night. It was either, “Not THIS again” about something they normally liked, or “Yuck” about something they didn’t like.
To prove a point, I asked them each to make a list of seven lunch meals and seven dinner meals they liked, with the idea that we could have something they liked every lunch/dinner without having the same thing twice in one week.
None of them could do it. And even if they could. . . there were four of them. The only things they could agree on were pizza, mac n cheese, and grilled cheese.

They could get part-time jobs and buy their own food. I started working at a restaurant at 15 and they look about that age.

Mom retires and the kids take over the cooking. I bet that would cut down on a lot of the griping.
