In the 70s, in high school, I had a phone in my bedroom. Didn’t everyone? Thinking about it, I had a phone in my bedroom in middle school. I think the house came that way.
Kids today just don’t understand what a big deal this was. It was status…total coolness….a much coveted luxury device for privacy. Nowadays it’s how cool your cellphone cover looks.

The best way to get a kid to clean his or her own room is to do it for him, or her……once, and not tell him/her where you put things!..
