    Brad probably screwed up by reading the wrong tax amount off of the tax table at the back of the booklet and actually owes the IRS money. This error could have also occurred if Brad subtracted line 7 from line 8 instead of vice-versa. Since this is 1994 he will find out in a month or 2 when he opens the letter in the mail from the IRS expecting his refund check and he will blow his stack over owing “them” money as well as a penalty and interest.

    Kind of figured it would go this way; unlikely that a high school kid with a part-time job would make enough to be liable for paying income tax. The main reason for filing a return at that age is to get your refund.
