Luann: The secret of dieting is to never weigh yourself
Delta: How do you know if you're losing weight?
Luann: You time how long it takes you to get your jeans on
Actually, she’s right. Weighing oneself is not a good measure (unless one has a lot of fat to lose). Weight can change due to water fluctuations, and putting on more muscle will make one weigh more but be slimming at the same time. In Luann’s case, she could put on weight due to growing taller also, therefore she is absolutely correct. Fitting into one’s clothes is the best way to determine fat gain or loss.
Very true. I don’t use a scale anymore. I just track my progress by how my clothes fit. If my clothes are getting snug, then I’ll have to lose some weight.
