I give props to Luann for letting Gunther and Rosa have space…very gracious of her to do that. :)

Good for Gunther, Rosa seems like a really nice girl (she’s practically a martyr with all of her good qualities). Rosa doesn’t look like she’d lead him on like Luann did since she seems genuinely interested in him.

Who says libraries are boring?

Well, well. That’s a first. Luann is not staking her claim on Gunther when he is interested in another girl. Luann must really like Rosa and is not interfering. That’s so great to see! It must be only Tiffany Luann absolutely wouldn’t let have Gunther. Was Gunther once interested in Bernice? Just a passing fancy?I can’t remember how Luann reacted to that.

Gunther and Rosa seem already to have an easy chemistry together, and Luann very graciously excused herself from being a third wheel. This is all too good to last!

@John abrams I think it would have been rude if both just walked away together and leave Luann flat. It’s easier for just Luann to walk away and to leave the two together. I’m just saying.

Folks, this is what is going to happen. Rosa and Gunther will start to get hot and heavy and Luann will get jealous. Then we will spend a week or so reading about Luann sorting out her feelings. Frankly, Luann has no business working at the Library in the first place. I think she enjoys torturing Gunther.

Here is question: Why is Rosa’s hair as big has her whole body?

Cause she’s latino, baby – they are big in everything including living life!

Luann didn’t need a rock to hit her in the head – for once. Libraries are easy places to do a little spying. Wonder if she’ll try to see or hear a little of what transpires. After all, if nothing else, she does care about Gunther.

Gunthers eyes in the third frame are so un-Gunther. If the eyes are the window to the soul, his is heating up nicely.

I can almost hear the violins playing and birds twittering in the last panel.

Uh, I HATE to be a “wet blanket” and CORRECT me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Rosa in the same situation as Quill? That She’s an exchange student subject to go BACK to her native country at any time? So if she leaves and Quill leaves, all Luann and Gunther have is…, each other? I need COFFEE….,

A good 3rd wheel knows when it’s time to roll.

I don’t think it is really fair to say Luann “lead him on” she has always been honest with him, watched out for his feelings ie the hidious dress, and she protected him from Tiff…and he knew it. She is a real friend too him…remember the help with his mom?…they will always…always be friends.They appreciate each other for who they are.

Now who’s Luann going to fall back on once Quill eventually leaves?

Looking at the past strips, Greg’s drawing skills has gotten better. Even Brad looks better. Maybe it’s time for Dad to get a makeover.

I still say Luann and Gunther belong together. Look at her parents.

Oh well, maybe she’ll be Gunther’s second marriage.

I hope something with Rosa works out for Gunther, Luann clearly have never appreciated him.

UPDATE!!!

now we “basically” can see from March 6th 1995(with some dailies missing from March) ……………………………………………….and for some reason missing April and May ‘95, and we start getting some Sundays at January ’97 (before that, in 96 and 95, we don’t get the Sundays)………………………..than we missing some dates here and there from ’95 till June 30th ’97, after that we have all of them Yipeee!!!!!!

Greg is so good at drawing facial expressions! You can pretty much read the characters’ minds.

Gunther will strike out….and Rosa becomes a Nun.

Is Luann a senior this year? Will they all be planning for College. Gunther will become a rich Haute Couture.

I’m taking bets on how quickly we leave this story line. I’m betting we move on to another one tomorrow, any takers?

Make up your mind. You objected that Luann was mean to Gunther. Now you are saying Rosa is not good enough for Gunther because she is too pretty. It is chemistry. Some people will purposefully seek good looking partners to make themselves look good and that is sexist and shallow. We know from this panel Rosa is none of that. She and Gunther have c-h-e-m-i-s-t-r-y. Woot!

Certainly answers the question about who gets Gunther if/when Luann gets Quill. ;-)

Hey Danny, regarding my unprofessional arguement, I didn’t know this was a professional forum. Luann has lead Gunther along for years. YEARS!!!!! She knows how much he likes her and yet, of all the places she could work/volunteer, she picks the library. Luann is a tease and gets off on torturing Gunth.

I like Gunther, but I don’t like him for Luann. Gunther definitely deserves happiness and a pretty girl. I like where this is going.

Lu and Gunther will always be friends. Lu will not be jealous if things work out between Gunther and Rosa. I think she will be happy that her friend has found a girlfriend. Elwood, however, is still lurking about.

How old is this comic strip?

@96816: Greg is improving. Almost every character has seen an improvement. Brad even wears a variety of shirts now. But Brad’s hair is still years overdue for an improvement.

Good to see Gunther and Crystal have found love. I think Elwood might be dating Tiffany, since Tiffany was wearing the costume Luann wore at Comicon last year. That just leaves Bernice and TJ and Delta needing love interests. Has Delta ever had a boyfriend in this strip? She had a crush on a teacher once. For all the dating advice TJ gives Brad you’d think we’d have seen TJ date someone, but I don’t remember him ever dating anyone.

When this is, that is.From the arising of this comes the arising of that.When this isn’t, that isn’t.From the cessation of this comes the cessation of that.

As long as we’re on this matchmaking spree (you’d think it was Valentines in Pittsville), maybe we’ll run into the two teachers (Mr Fogerty and the counselor—why does Pitts High only have two teachers anyway) on a date somewhere?

I think it’s interesting how Knute and TJ both have permanent smiles but for opposite reasons—Knute smiles because he doesn’t have enough thoughts in his brain to be anything but happy, while TJ smiles because he has too many thoughts in his brain, always thinking of his next scheme. When do we get to find out where the money came from TJ offered Brad? Is he a professional chef?

I’m starting to like Crystal more and more, as time goes on. She has a lot of depth and substance to her now, she’s not just the Goth girl. She’s intellectual, philosophical, and perceptive, and is even willing to change her look to have fun. And she’s the only one who can keep Tiffany’s vanity in check. Since Gunther’s never dated anyone (to my recollection), maybe he should start out with a double date. Could we see a Gunther/Rosa-Knute/Cystal double date?
